3. The Luxury Package (The Connoisseur)

Day 1: Journey to the Crater & Sunset Safari
Your adventure begins with a mid-morning departure from Johannesburg (JHB) or Pretoria, traveling north toward the ancient volcanic structure that holds the Pilanesberg National Park. After checking into your safari lodge and enjoying lunch, you'll prepare for your first exciting activity: the Afternoon/Sunset Open Vehicle Game Drive. This is prime time for spotting animals as the heat breaks, and you'll spend about three hours tracking the famous Big 5, before returning to the lodge for a hearty dinner under the starlit bushveld sky.
Day 2: Predator Tracking & The Harties Scenery
Wake up before dawn for the Early Morning Open Vehicle Game Drive. This is the best opportunity to catch predators like lion and leopard while they're still active. After returning for a delicious late breakfast, you'll check out and begin your scenic journey back to JHB. The route takes you directly through the Hartbeespoort Dam (Harties) area. We'll make a memorable Stopover Activity, such as taking the Aerial Cableway for panoramic views of the dam and Magaliesberg Mountains, or enjoying a leisurely Dam Cruise. After a light lunch in Harties, your tour concludes with an afternoon drop-off in JHB/Pretoria.

Day 1: Arrival, Settlement, and the First Roar
Your journey starts with a morning transfer from JHB/Pretoria, arriving at your Pilanesberg lodge in time for lunch. After settling in, you'll immediately plunge into the action with the Afternoon/Sunset Open Vehicle Game Drive. Day 2: Full-Day Immersion in the Wild
This is your full day dedicated to the ultimate safari experience. Start with the Early Morning Open Vehicle Game Drive—the crucial time for tracking game movement. You'll return to the lodge for a mid-morning break and brunch, with the option to spend the hot hours relaxing by the pool or at a dedicated viewing hide. Lunch is followed by the Afternoon Open Vehicle Game Drive, which might explore different sections of the park. The day culminates in a spectacular dinner, often served outside, allowing you to reflect on your Big 5 sightings.
Day 3: Final Drive & Mountain Views
Enjoy a final, poignant Early Morning Game Drive, soaking in the sounds and smells of the African bush one last time. Following a late breakfast, you'll check out and travel toward JHB. Our last stop is the picturesque Hartbeespoort Dam. Here, you'll engage in a Stopover Activity—perhaps a relaxing Dam Cruise on the water or a trip up the Aerial Cableway to capture stunning photographs of the Magaliesberg mountains. After lunch, the return transfer to JHB/Pretoria marks the end of your three-day safari.

Day 1: JHB to the Bushveld Citadel
Transfer from JHB/Pretoria to the Pilanesberg National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge, enjoy lunch, and prepare for your first deep dive into the wild. The Afternoon/Sunset Open Vehicle Game Drive introduces you to the park’s diverse landscape and resident Big 5. Dinner is served back at your accommodation.

The rest of the day is spent at the lodge, perhaps relaxing at the pool or enjoying a quiet lunch. The Afternoon Game Drive focuses on areas not yet explored, often near water sources. Enjoy your final dinner in the tranquillity of the Pilanesberg.
Day 4: From Bush to Beach - The Sun City Switch
After a late breakfast and check-out, you have a short transfer to the magnificent Sun City Resort. Check into your hotel and spend the entire Day Exploring Sun City. Your focus is the entertainment complex, which must include the Valley of the Waves—Africa's largest man-made beach and wave pool. The day is yours to enjoy thrilling slides, the Maze of the Lost City, or a round of golf. Dinner will be at one of the resort’s many dining options.
Day 5: Harties Viewpoint & Return to JHB
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Sun City; perhaps a final stroll through the gardens or some last-minute shopping. After checking out, you’ll transfer toward JHB, stopping en-route at Hartbeespoort Dam. Here, your final Stopover Activity will be the popular Aerial Cableway, giving you breathtaking, panoramic views of the entire region. After a last lunch overlooking the dam, you'll complete your transfer back to JHB/Pretoria.

Consider an optional, truly unique experience like a Hot Air Balloon Safari (extra cost) over the park at sunrise, or focus on two extensive Morning and Afternoon Game Drives. Your ranger will dedicate this day to exploring the hidden corners and less-travelled roads of the park. All meals included at the lodge.
Day 4: Farewell to the Bush
Your final full day in the park. After the Morning Game Drive, you might opt for a guided Walking Safari or enjoy the lodge facilities. The Afternoon Game Drive serves as your final chance to check off any animals you’ve missed. Celebrate your safari success with a special Farewell Dinner at the lodge.
Day 5: Sun City Magic Arrives
Enjoy a leisurely late breakfast before transferring to the magnificent Sun City Resort. Check into your hotel and dedicate your afternoon to aquatic thrills at the world-famous Valley of the Waves water park. As the sun sets, you have the option to explore the vibrant entertainment complex, followed by dinner.
Day 6: Full Day of Resort Excitement
A full day dedicated to the leisure and entertainment of Sun City. You are free to choose from activities like The Maze of the Lost City, Zip-lining for the adrenaline seekers, or the tranquil beauty of the resort's private lake. Golfers can book a round on one of the championship courses. This day is all about pure relaxation and fun at the resort, capped off by dinner.
Day 7: Scenic Return Via Harties
Enjoy your final delicious hotel breakfast at Sun City before checking out. Your last journey takes you back to JHB, with a crucial stop at Hartbeespoort Dam. Here, your final Stopover Activity will allow you to either take a picturesque Dam Cruise or ascend the mountain via the Aerial Cableway to fully appreciate the views of the dam wall and the Magaliesberg.
