Travel Tip

Morning

Three Rondavels Viewpoint

Start big! See the three iconic, hut-shaped peaks guarding the Blyde River Canyon—one of the greenest and largest canyons in the world.

The best light for photos is often in the morning!

Late Morning

Bourke’s Luck Potholes

Watch the Treur and Blyde Rivers meet and swirl into a series of giant, cylindrical rock formations. Cross the pedestrian bridges for the best views of nature's giant rock-drill work.

Wear comfortable shoes; you'll be walking around the edges of the gorges.

Lunch

Pilgrim’s Rest

Step back into the 1870s gold rush! Grab lunch in this beautifully preserved, living museum town. It’s like eating in a film set.

Try a local pub for a rustic, historical atmosphere.

Afternoon

God's Window & Wonder View

Brace yourself for a truly breathtaking vista. On a clear day, the views of the Lowveld stretch for miles, justifying the divine name. Wonder View (just up the road) is often less crowded.

Warning: The views can get misty, so check the weather, but the mist can be beautiful too!

Evening

Check-in Near Sabie/Graskop

These towns are perfectly positioned for exploring both the Panorama and Waterfall Routes.

Graskop is famous for its pancakes—a well-deserved dinner!

Travel Tip

Morning

Lisbon Falls

The tallest waterfall in Mpumalanga! Watch the water divide into twin streams before plunging 94 metres into the pool below.

There is a short, easy walk from the parking area to the viewpoint.

Mid-Morning

Berlin Falls

This beautiful fall resembles a giant, white candle wick dropping into a deep, emerald-green pool. It's a classic example of escarpment waterfalls.

There's an official viewing platform for the perfect photo angle.

Lunch & Thrills

Graskop Gorge Lift

Ride a glass elevator 51m down into the indigenous forest gorge! You can explore a network of walkways at the bottom, surrounded by waterfalls and lush growth. Lunch at the restaurant on the edge of the cliff is spectacular.

An optional adrenaline boost: try the Big Swing or Zipline across the gorge!

Afternoon

Mac Mac Falls

Named for the influx of Scottish miners during the gold rush. This is a unique duet—the river splits and plunges in two separate columns.

Don't forget to check out the nearby Mac Mac Pools for a quick dip in the cool, crystal-clear water.

Late Afternoon

Lone Creek Falls

A designated National Monument, this 68m beauty is one of the most accessible falls, with a short, easy path through a beautiful forest.

A perfect, final stop before heading home, leaving you feeling refreshed.
